Had a great day yesterday with an amazing family and delicious food. Got in a plyo workout to start the day and enjoyed the festivities totally guilt free🍗🥐🍠. It’s all about moderation and balance. From day one I've involved my children in every aspect of my 132 pound weight loss. When we went through deployment number five people asked if I would continue to work out. Hell yeah! Even on sub zero days, I've bundled all four kids up and taken them along with me. On days when I wanted to attend multiple classes we'd work out, go get lunch and bring them along to the next one. Some said, they must be so bored! Actually, far from! When the sun shined, we got up early and I packed the kids into the wagon and ran beside them. When it was warm into the evenings, we walked off dinner and I ran laps around the park while they played. We work out in the living room together, learned yoga together, counted while I ran staircases. I've made meal plans with them, cooked with them and we've tried new foods together! They've left notes for me on the fridge, pictures on my pilllow telling me how much they love ME! They've always made sure my protein was waiting on the counter or my water bottle was full. They've riden along in the whee hours to a start line and cheered me on at every finish line. It's a family effort and I am that much more successful because of them. People have asked, did you lose the weight for your kids? Sure, in a way. So I could stick around and play with them longer. So I could carry them to bed when they fell asleep on the couch. But really, I was motivated by them. It became routine. Everything became fun. Their smiles drive me forward. When they introduce me to their friends, etc. it makes me so proud to step forward and be their mother. Anytime I've gotten frustrated, sad, sick, bored - whatever, I thought about them and the mother they saw. The mother they deserved. I want my children to always remember I took a chance to start over fresh, with them. That I took on life's challenges because I'm capable and strong as hell and that I am who I am because I was resilient, I was determined and I kicked obesity in the ass - all with them by my side. #strongmom #momlife
