November’s race. I feel like @hogwartsrunningclub chose this one just for me. Everything that I feared came true for me in the past two years. Everything that should’ve destroyed me happened. And I did crumble. And I did hit rock bottom. But like the Phoenix I rose from my ashes. I refuse to stay down. I refuse to let life beat me down. Fuck that! At this point in time I’m still on the rise 🔥 My tail is still flaming but I can see the transformation happening. This medal means so much to me. It’s the symbol of everything I am in life. Fawkes was one of my favorite characters because of what he was. It’s ok to let the flames of life consume you. But when you rise, make sure you come up as the whole fucking fire 🔥 #andillriseup

@chomps beef jerky fueled my new pause bench pr of 426 today followed by 375x5, 5, 355x5. Bench is now 41 lbs above anything I’ve ever touched in a meet and I am always a lot stronger in meets than compared to training. This is most likely due to proper peaking. Happy Sunday!I had a great day! Working backwards, as usual:.📷 I made burgers and mashed cauliflower for dinner. The burgers came out perfectly! It was a splurge night because I broke out a @smartbakingcompany hamburger bun. There not cheap but they're GOOD and zero net carbs! I cooked the burgers in the air fryer oven and they came out perfectly, again..I saw someone recommend on a recipe to roast the cauliflower so that you don't have to drain it. (I finally just ordered some cheesecloth today). Umm... Yeah. Here's the problem with roasting your cauliflower - it gets kind of sweet. So instead of making mediocre fake mashed potatoes I made even weirder mediocre fake mashed sweet potatoes! Some cheese and sour cream made them taste okay, but it wasn't what I was going for. 🤣🤣🤣.📷 I had a lovely brunch with 2 of my most favorite people. @tpdrescue and @joannran. They brought their pups and we had a delicious meal on the patio of the new Jack Holders restaurant on Meridian and Hillsdale. I kind of felt like a traitor. #ripCardinalRestaurant.📽️ Against all odds I got my creepy Halloween window set up! Jason helped me and didn't even make fun of me. I just need to block it off so that Polo doesn't totally thrash the window cover screen.

Cameo by a kitty tail. We enjoyed a drink at our favorite local BBQ place after the 5K at the local high school, and took some food with us to enjoy at home. I had my favorite vegan reuben and some french fries. I had bourbon while we were waiting. I had dessert at home. Yeah. Today was great.Great movement. Felt strong and accomplished in everything I did.Got to see my guy accomplish his first 5K (Yeah, after he rocked the Warrior Dash, but hey! It was his first 5K)Good food, with some indulgences, but that’s what balance is all about.I feel good going into the new week. POWERLESS - Out of Control - Scared, under some spell....It sounds CRAZY that I felt like Chocolate🍫had this much power over me!..I used to avoid making cookies or cake. If it was in my house, I would NOT be able to get it out of my mind. I felt like it was calling my name and it would not relent!.I labeled this food as “BAD” - cheating - unhealthy - junk - etc….I only allowed myself to eat it on a Sunday because once I started, I would not stop..It would turn into a binge..So when I saw cake for example, I saw it as one in the same as an actual binge. I felt a slice of cake would make me gain weight..A slice of cake could cause me to feel sick and awful. Reality was - it triggered me to binge..And I was dead wrong about it all!.When I started Flexible Dieting, I used logic. I visually planned in these “bad” foods in a moderate way. I had to see it to believe it, that this food had no special power. It was simply food, just like anything else that was made up of carbs, fats, and protein..Was I nervous to try this? YES! I started with just one chocolate bar, not an entire pack. I planned one of these bars in every single day. (Did the same with ice cream at one time) I would have 3 squares melted into Cream of Wheat and eat the rest of the bar plain. I made sure I was sitting, calm, and giving it my full attention. I truly tasted it! Did this for…..4 months……every single day..I did not gain weight. It started losing it’s power. One day I thought, this is good, but not THAT good. I was at the grocery store checking out and all the candy bars were staring at me. No thoughts of “I wish I could have one…but…..” no desire to want to eat them all. It was just nothing. I noticed it. Thought hmmmmm…those are not a big deal, I can have one any day I want. And today, I don’t even want one..That is letting the process evolve. That is practicing, That is changing your mindset. Tell yourself what you can have instead of what you can’t! Was I addicted? NOPE. A mental habit had to be broken..You are not a victim to food. You are a victim to your habit. Take back your power and plan what you will do!.#sunday #chocolate #eatwhatyoulove #triggerfoods

A week off from lifting and tracking macros did the good. It was not intentional but somehow I got a pinched nerve in my lower back last Sunday during church (maybe too much bass pedal on the bass drum 🤔🤔) Went in and hit a 5x5 on bench with lots of high volume accessory work on bench and bicep and it felt good. -I know a lot of folks hate taking time off from the gym, but sometimes you just gotta listen to your body. It’s better to take time off just to reset for a few days than due to injuries. Currently preparing for my longest off season to date... 👶🏼 Between all 4 of my shows, I reversed, took several months off to build, then would cut back down to compete several months later. I am sooo excited to compete at the pro level after this current off season; however, it will most likely be longer than any other off season I have had. After earning my IFBB Pro card this summer, I was stoked and making plans to compete at the Pro level! For some reason though, something else kept coming to mind, trumping everything else on my list of personal goals. I’ve come to terms with the decision, and my husband and I are preparing to become parents. @bhubb4rd No, I am NOT pregnant, but that is the next goal!🤰🏼I seriously could not be more excited!
